Issue with Cauri Blackthorne quest (vanilla)

Hi! I'm not very confident using git, so decided to post here. Checked for double-reporting though.
I've got an accident blocking the quest "Find Cauri Blackthorne". It happens as follows:
> go find Cauri having a Stone to flesh spell scroll in inventory
> kill Basilisks around her
> hold Space / interaction key to collect their corpses and unintentionally trigger the dialog with Cauri
> don't react fast enough to release the key, Cauri moves to tavern, and the crucial quest dialog is unreachable
I suppose, holding Space selects the first dialogue option, which implies that the solution could be to switch dialogue options order so that the join option is the last one, which also helps stupid people like me to not miss it in the usual gameplay. Another solution is to give the Dantillion ability to promote the party after Cauri is released.
This wiki page (https://mightandmagic.fandom.com/wiki/F ... r_location) suggests that missability of this quest is a known issue, and I see no reason why should it be so. Cauri is alive, can return home, and thus should be able to promote us later just fine.
PS: as a little off-topic, a while ago I reported the issue with time-travelling breaking the Harmondale "wait one year" routine, but lost the save and was unable to send it to mod devs. As I see, it's not in the git tracker right now, so I wanted to ask if the issue is solved, and if not - if devs want me to finally try and reproduce it.
